Essex will play Worcestershire in the T20 Blast final after the Eagles beat Derbyshire by 34 runs in Saturday’s second semi-final at Edgbaston.
Cameron Delport struck 55 as Essex made 160-5, having at one stage been 78-0.
Simon Harmer (4-19) and Aron Nijjar (3-26) were brilliant with the ball as the Falcons, playing in Finals Day for the first time, were skittled for 126.
In the first-semi-final, holders Worcestershire beat Nottinghamshire by one run in a final-ball thriller.
