The ramp-up to the holidays means we saw gobs of new products in October. Here are some of our favorites….
The 10-inch Portal, with its improved person-tracking software, smart speaker support, and augmented reality games, makes makes communicating through video chat feel great. But like a lot of other fantastic, easy-to-use tools, the Portal is made by a massive, and massively influential, company whose values can be questionable and privacy violations egregious. Products don’t exist in a vacuum, and it’s getting harder to make the decision to buy or use them without that context.
