Apple’s MacBook Pro gets an all-new keyboard
Apple’s butterfly keyboards are famously prone to failure (my spacebar lost its will to live just last week), but today’s announcement of a new 16-inch MacBook Pro includes something truly marvelous: a new keyboard, no butterfly keys in sight. Our writer loves how the new keys feel (which are actually a return to the old pre-butterfly “scissor-switch” design), and the computer comes with a faster processor, a crisper resolution, and hugely improved storage.
Best Buy made these smart home gadgets dumb again
Last week, Best Buy pulled the plug on its line of Insignia Connect products, including a convertible freezer/fridge, two kinds of smart plugs, a smart light switch, and a Wi-Fi-connected camera. The company offered partial refunds, and while most of the products still have partial functionality without their smart features, some simply became expensive bricks.
