The 16 Best Weekend Deals on Headphones, Soundbars, and More

We found discounts on a MacBook Pro, an Instant Pot, and the newest Amazon Fire tablet….

If getting out of the house isn’t a readily available option this summer, the next best course of action might be to improve the little things that irk you. Tired of turning up the TV, only to have imbalanced audio? A soundbar might help. Sick of the yellowish light in your kitchen? A new LED bulb can fix it on the cheap. The deals we rounded up this weekend are filled with gear that can make a big difference at a smaller-than-normal cost.

Tech and Home Deals

Samsung’s new Galaxy A52 5G (7/10, WIRED Recommends) is a solid smartphone, especially considering its affordable price. The 120-Hz display is fantastic, the plasticky build makes it more durable than pricier all-glass flagships, and the robust 5G connectivity in conjunction with 4 years of security updates means it should last a while (and continue to perform well). You can get an even better price if you trade in a device. It was $25 cheaper at Amazon, but it’s temporarily out of stock when we last checked.

Everyone should have a soundbar. The Roku Streambar is one of the best soundbars for folks who want to upgrade their home theater audio and utilize its built-in streaming functionality. The price comes within a couple of bucks of the lowest we’ve tracked. This deal is matched at Target. Some other Roku gadgets are also on sale, but they aren’t the best discounts.

While we like the newer Jabra 85t slightly more, these are still a very good pair of buds. They usually sell for around $180. This price matches the lowest ever. The Elite Active 75t are particularly good for runners—the earbuds stay put while you’re moving. For non-runners that won’t miss the sporty functionality, the 75t are also on sale. Check our guide to the Best Workout Earbuds for more recommendations.

Clip the on-page coupon to save. This is one of our favorite smart bulbs. It doesn’t have a ton of features, but it’s simple to use. The smartphone app lets you pick a color that suits your mood. It can also sync with music, and operate on set schedules.

It isn’t the newest model, but we still recommend the 2019 MacBook Pro (9/10, WIRED Recommends) if you need the most powerful MacBook right now. If you’re in no rush, it’s likely we’ll see an updated version later this year with Apple’s own silicon. Still, this machine is an absolute powerhouse with a massive screen. Our Best MacBooks guide has more details.

Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet

The new Amazon Fire HD 10 (7/10, WIRED Recommends) is our favorite tablet for under $200. A discount of nearly 50 percent just a few months after it was released makes this deal enticing. It matches the price we saw it drop to on Prime Day. The deal is matched at Best Buy but strangely not Amazon. The larger capacity is also discounted. Check our Fire Tablet Buying Guide for more.

If you’re looking to add to your digital game library, Celeste is absolutely worth your while. It has all the hallmarks of a good indie game: stunning art, a gorgeous soundtrack, and immersive gameplay. Here’s our full review.

This isn’t the latest model, but we haven’t seen a better deal than this. In our in-depth review, we applauded their audio quality, comfort level, and battery life. This great price is icing on the cake. Here are some more fantastic noise-canceling cans

Instant Pots go on sale for just about every major shopping holiday so this isn’t a standout deal, but in case you missed the discounts we saw on Prime Day, you have another shot. The three-quart capacity of this model is likely too small for anyone cooking meals for more than three people. But the $50 price is a match of its lowest, and the Duo Nova is one of the most user-friendly multicookers.

A 35-liter waterproof tote bag might seem like overkill, but the Yeti Camino Carryall (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is weirdly awesome. During testing, senior associate reviews editor Adrienne So used it as a diaper bag, a gear hauler, and a grocery store helper, and liked it for all three purposes. This is the best price we’ve seen; a couple of color options are on sale.

Summer Sales

Tushy Classic

A bidet will change your life. Tushy makes some of the most user-friendly models. There’s no complicated setup required, and they’ll fit on nearly any existing toilet. Every model is discounted, including the newest version of the Tushy Classic. For an even more affordable version, the older iteration is cheaper at Amazon (and still good.)

In the market for some new leather accessories for your tech? Nomad’s sale is worth checking out. You can save 30 percent on phone cases, wireless chargers, cables, desk essentials, and wallets. We rounded up our favorite deals for your perusal. You’ll need to use the code SUMMER30. The deals run through July 25.

Outdoor enthusiasts might want to take a peek at the massive selection of clearance items over at Backcountry. It’s a good way to save on gear from brands that don’t go on sale very often, like Prana and Cotopaxi. One standout is a $35 discount on the North Face Isabella Daypack. The Isabella is one of our favorite backpacks, and the price is valid on both color options.

Everlane doesn’t offer discounts frequently, but it has lots of deals right now. Our favorite product from this brand, the French Terry Hoodie, is $20 off, but sizes are limited. There are plenty of other items to choose from if you’ve been eyeing something.

Moment makes some of our favorite camera accessories and gear. Its Summer Sale ends on July 31, and you’ll find discounts on iPhone 12 MagSafe cases, MagSafe mounts to attach your camera accessories, and even one of our favorite camera bags, the Moment MTW Backpack

Sometimes it’s difficult to save on tech. Outlet events like this one can be a good way to circumvent a lack of sales. Merchandise ranges from open-box returned items to refurbished goods, so make sure to check the product’s details, condition, and warranty before purchasing. I, Louryn, managed to snag a perfect Apple Pencil for $35 off during a Best Buy sale like this. The only flaw was a dented box!
