Amazon Prime Day is a two-day sale event where Prime subscribers can find hundreds of exclusive deals on products available at the online retailer, though there are plenty of other discounts for non-members. This year, Prime Day is set for July 12 and 13, but you can already get some pretty slick deals on some of our favorite stuff. From Amazon Fire-enabled TVs and speakers to third-party devices, here are some of our favorite early Prime Day 2022 deals.

TCL 6Series TV

This is our favorite TV for most people (9/10, WIRED Recommends), and this is the lowest price we have ever tracked for the 55-inch model. It has a quantum dot panel for bright colors and utilizes local dimming zones for deeper blacks in your movies and shows. It has a built-in Roku interface, and the Micro-LED backlighting delivers exceptional contrast. This deal is also available at Walmart.

This is one of the prettiest TVs we’ve tested. The bezels are super slim, the OLED panel is fantastic and delivers deep blacks and rich colors, and it has an Android TV interface, which means you can also cast to it from your phone. It has weird feet on the ends, so it’s best to wall-mount it unless you have a large TV stand.

This is a basic, entry-level TV from Hisense, but we like the brand and trust its build quality, unlike some of the other generic Amazon TVs we haven’t tested. You get Dolby Vision high dynamic range support (read: prettier colors), and a Fire TV built-in for streaming your favorite Amazon shows.

If you’ve been shopping for an extra-large screen, this is one of the best discounts we’ve seen on a 75-inch model in months. It comes with Fire TV onboard for easy streaming and Amazon shopping, plus full-array local dimming means black levels and highlights will look better than on cheaper screens.

Google Pixel 6 Pro

We’re big fans of the Pixel 6 Pro (9/10, WIRED Recommends), which takes excellent photos, especially with its optical 4X telephoto camera. It has a gorgeous 120-Hz OLED screen, and it’s packed with plenty of smart software features that make using this phone a joy. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro might be on the way later this year, but this is still a good buy that will last you a while.

Samsung’s Galaxy S22 (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is an excellent all-around high-end Android phone. It excels in almost every category, and it’ll even get Android version upgrades longer than the aforementioned Google Pixel (weird, considering that Google maintains the Android operating system). The S22 is a nice size, and this sale is on the version with 256 gigabytes of storage. If you want a bigger phone, the S22 Ultra is on sale for $1,000. It has a spectacular 10X optical zoom camera that’ll let you snap crisp photos of objects far away.

The A53 5G (8/10, WIRED Recommends) has pretty much every feature most people need, including 5G, NFC for contactless payments, more than a day of battery life, IP67 water resistance, and a MicroSD card slot. Then it goes a step further with high-end perks like a 120-Hz AMOLED screen, four OS upgrades, plus 5 years of security updates. At this price, it’s exceptional value.

WIRED senior associate editor Adrienne So calls the Apple Watch SE (8/10, WIRED Recommends) the best Apple Watch for most people, which makes this a solid time to snag it at a discount. It doesn’t have all the health features of the high-end Apple Watch Series 7, but it has most of the ones that matter on a day-to-day basis. Read our Apple Watch guide for more details.

The M1 chip brought a remarkable and speedy departure from Apple’s longtime Intel processors, allowing those of us who work on the go a bit more power for photo editing, music production, and a bazillion Chrome tabs. There’s a new MacBook Air on the way next month (it’ll cost a bit more than the current version), but this 2020 model (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is still excellent.

The Pixelbook Go is getting a little old, but it’s still an excellent, no-frills laptop. It’s a Chromebook, so it’s only a great option for anyone who can work completely off the Chrome browser (though Android apps are available via the Google Play Store). Read our Best Chromebooks guide for more details.

You will need to buy the keyboard attachment to get the most out of this small Windows laptop (any Bluetooth keyboard will also work). The Surface Go 3 isn’t very powerful, but it’s good enough for simple tasks like browsing the web, sending emails, editing documents, and watching YouTube.

Amazon Device Deals

If you’re in a rush, these are some solid discounts on Amazon-made hardware. However, it’s important to know that these devices will likely dip a lot further on Prime Day itself. Check out our Best Amazon Smart Speaker, Best Smart Display, and Best Streaming Stick guides for more.

Echo Dot

I love Echo Dots (8/10, WIRED Recommends) more than just any other smart speaker. They’re small, sound pretty darn good, and work perfectly for sleep sounds, timers, and a quick check of the weather. Last Prime Day, the price dipped as low as $25, so it’s worth waiting. Be sure to read our guide on How to Make Your Amazon Echo as Private as Possible.

Ever annoyed you can’t find that favorite show or movie? Amazon is probably your best bet because it has a ton of rental and purchase options (beyond the free Amazon Prime Video content). The included voice remote makes things even easier in terms of navigation. It’s likely that this device will drop to $25 on Prime Day. We still generally like Roku and Google’s Chromecast With Google TV streaming stick more, so check out our full recommendations before committing to one.

This is the lowest price we’ve ever tracked for the Fire TV Cube. If you want to control your entire home theater system using your voice, the Fire TV cube is a good option. Just hook up all your players and game systems to your cube, then use voice commands to turn things on and off. Though as we note in our review, things aren’t always so slick.

The Echo Show 15 is a great way to put photos of loved ones on the wall, and the Echo Show 5 is a great way to set timers, follow recipes, and check the weather. I like to use one in the living room on the wall, and the other in my kitchen. Read our Best Smart Display guide for more options.
