Ms Truss’s leadership rival, Rishi Sunak, has said Britain should designate Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, which protects the country’s regime, a terrorist organisation after Friday’s attack on Sir Salman Rushdie, the Sunday Telegraph reports. The attack followed a religious fatwa against Sir Salman issued in 1989 by the then-Iranian leader, Ayatollah Khomeini, and has been celebrated by Iranian politicians and state media.
