16 Best Black Friday Mattress Deals (2022): Bedsheets, Pillows, Blankets
We’ve found discounts on bedsheets, weighted blankets, and sound machines to help make bedtime a little sweeter….
Sleep is essential, but it’s not always easy. Some people can sleep on a plank of wood, and some of us need the perfect mattress, the crispest sheets perfectly tucked, and a nice sound machine crackling nearby. Luckily, there are Black Friday deals on all those things. The prices included here for mattresses are for the queen-size version.
We test products year-round and handpicked these deals. Products that are sold out or no longer discounted as of publishing will be crossed out. We’ll update this guide throughout the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend.
Mattress Deals
When it comes to mattresses, the rule to live by is to never pay full price. No matter the time of year, there’s always a sale coming up. List prices are set artificially high so that deals seem extravagant, but they aren’t. We’ve handpicked the best deals below, but our Best Mattresses guide has more options and detailed explanations of hybrid versus all-foam.
This is our favorite mattress, and it’s the one you should get if money is no object. This is the same price it was during its Memorial Day sale and $50 more than last Black Friday (the base price has risen). It lives up to its Luxe name and is plush and cushiony on top, but it still has a medium-firm feel that’s good for all sleeping positions. The amount of money off depends on the size you choose. Click the view offer button on the top of the website to see exactly how much, and which code you’ll need to apply at checkout. Each mattress order comes with two pillows.
Don’t want to spend quite as much money as the Helix? Casper is an all-around great option if you’re not sure what mattress to buy. It’s what our reviewer called “as close to a default as beds come.” You’ll get soft support, better breathability, and edge support than on an all-foam mattress.
This mattress is ideal if you need pressure relief to sleep better at night. You’ll sink into its top layer of adaptive foam, it does feel supportive. There’s green ceramic gel foam to dissipate heat, and it manages to maintain its shape, so there won’t be a person-shaped outline the next night.
Does the thought of spending over a grand on a bed keep you up at night? Well, this is a solid deal. The Nectar mattress is a good option for side sleepers. Its MSRP is $999 but we usually see it dip to $799, so this is indeed a real discount. It’s an all-foam bed, not a hybrid, but it’s just cushy enough—it sinks in, but doesn’t swallow you up. If you want to add two pillows, sheets, and a mattress protector, you’ll need to add the accessories on offer for $99.
Sound Machine Deals
You can find more recommendations in our Best Sound Machines guide.
Click the coupon button on the page to see the discount at checkout. If you want a sound machine and a sunrise alarm (plus a digital clock!), Hatch hits the mark here. Using the app, you can program your basic morning and night routines, and select your alarm and sleep sounds. It’s still pricey even with this discount. Subscribing to the Hatch Sleep Membership gets you a changing library of sounds, stories, and meditations, but it’s not required.
Click the coupon button on the page to see the discount at checkout. This version of the Hatch is meant for babies, but anyone can use it. It has child-specific features, namely the time-to-rest and time-to-rise lights. It’s good for early risers to not annoy their parents on their one and only day to sleep in, but it could also be helpful for adults who need reminding to put down their phones and take a second to get into sleep mode. Using the app, you can customize colors and cycle through sounds. The second-gen version uses Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth.
I really like Morphée products. They’re thoughtfully made and screenless. You can get a basic sound machine for cheaper, but this one adds meditations too. You can go from crackling fireplace sounds to meditative sessions designed for falling into a deep sleep. The downside is you can only choose between playing for 8 or 20 minutes; I wish it played sounds continuously.
Get this one for kids. Not only is it adorable, but the meditations also take kids on journeys with an animal companion. I gave one to a friend whose daughter loves it, listening while toting it from room to room. It has the same time constraints as the adult version.
Weighted Blanket Deals
Our Best Weighted Blankets guide breaks down weights and sizes and has more picks.
Yaasa’s weighted blanket is expensive and rarely discounted, but it’s our favorite if you like a stiff, heavy blanket. The open-knit design is pretty and allows air to circulate if you’re a hot sleeper like me. It feels so much heavier than other options too (this is a good thing!). You can get it in 15- or 20-pound sizes.
Gravity might be the best-known weighted blanket company, and this blanket is its first affordable version. It left nothing to be desired—I loved sleeping with it. It’s 15 pounds and the perfect size for one person to enjoy without annoying their partner. It’s machine washable, but there are a few cover options too. If you buy the blanket from Amazon, there’s an additional 10 percent off discount on the page.
You can get a great blanket for less with the Gravity option above, but Brooklinen’s is beautiful, especially in the terracotta and dark green colors. It’s a nice 12 pounds, with a satisfyingly textured side and a smooth cotton side.
The discount is automatically applied at checkout. Baloo’s throw is slightly smaller than Brooklinen’s, so it might be better for solo sleepers (or if your partner doesn’t like weighted blankets). It’s a crispy cool cotton, and there are linen duvet covers available in some really beautiful colors. The blanket can be machine-washed and dried too.
More Sleep Deals
Body pillows are generally about the length of you or somewhat shorter. With this Wiggle pillow, I can wrap it around me, cocooning between it with my head on the top. I sleep so well squeezing this. The brand makes fuzzy covers, too, but they’re currently sold out. The cover makes it feel like a teddy bear, but I like the cooling feel without it.
WIRED reviewer Haley Sprankle has been testing bedsheets, and these sateen ones from Brooklinen are a front-runner. She says they’ve got a buttery soft feel but don’t heat up during the night. They also come in pretty, muted colors, and even a few patterns like a stunning kaleidoscope.
Blissy’s silk mask is cooling and comfortable, and it blocks out all the light so I can sleep in. It also comes in 38 (!!) colors and patterns. I alternate between this one and Nodpod’s weighted sleep mask.
WIRED reviews editor Julian Chokkattu likes Parachute’s crisp percale sheets, but the brand’s linen, sateen, and cotton options are also on sale. They don’t come in a set, however, so you’ll have to purchase a top sheet for $64 ($16 off) and a fitted sheet for $72 ($18 off) separately—there are shams for $63 ($16 off) if you need them. If you don’t sleep with a top sheet, this might be a perk for you.
