Best of national signing day: Commitments, analysis, rankings and more
We will keep you updated with news, analysis and more as college football recruits start officially signing….
National signing day is here.
College football’s early signing period begins Wednesday and lasts until Friday. High school recruits are able to sign their national letters of intent to lock them into the colleges of their choice.
This is the fifth year in which college football has held an early signing period, although Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby recently said it is a possibility that the recruiting calendar reverts to its old way of having only one national signing day, on the first Wednesday in February.
Recruits this cycle had to navigate through a mandated dead period for over a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some have also had to handle the task of navigating where they will sign amid a turbulent coaching carousel.
We will keep you updated with news, analysis, highlights, updated class rankings and more throughout the next few days.
Updated class rankings
We’ll be updating our class rankings throughout the day, so stay tuned to see how the latest signings affect your team.
Signing-day stunner
Coach Prime made some magic happen with five-star corner Travis Hunter, who is ranked No. 2 overall, flipping from Florida State to Jackson State.
Five-star corner Travis Hunter, ranked No. 2 overall, just flipped from Florida State to Jackson State. Deion Sanders flipped a prospect from his alma mater & is the first time FCS school will sign a 5-star prospect since ESPN started its rankings in 2006. @SportsCenter @espncfb

Key decisions
β’ ESPN 300 tight end Jake Johnson, the brother of former LSU QB Max Johnson, has committed to Texas A&M.
β’ Alabama added ESPN 300 defensive tackle Khurtiss Perry on Wednesday, the No. 56 prospect overall. Perry chose Bama over Auburn.
β’ Five-star wide receiver Shazz Preston committed to Alabama. Preston is the No. 15-ranked prospect overall.
β’ Michigan added a commitment from ESPN 300 defensive end Derrick Moore, the No. 23 ranked prospect overall.
β’ Five-star safety Kamari Wilson, the No. 14 ranked recruit overall, chose Florida over Georgia, Florida State and LSU among others. And this reaction from the UF staff is incredible.

And most recently, Texas flipped ESPN 300 DB Terrance Brooks from Ohio State, ranked No. 89 overall.
Change of plans, staying home. I would like to thank Coach Salazar, Coach Vasek, and Coach Dodge for making this happen. Looking forward to the future π€πΌ pic.twitter.com/Xz9UwRpb7j
