‘Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed’ signals a darker, looser Apple TV strategy

Apple TV is pushing beyond its formula with “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed,” a new thriller that leans on instability, dark humor, and a more immediate kind of storytelling to keep viewers coming back each week.

Apple TV debuts a new series

Apple released a first-look teaser for Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, a 10-episode half-hour series from creator and showrunner David J. Rosen starring Tatiana Maslany and Jake Johnson. The series debuts globally on May 20 on Apple TV, with new episodes arriving every Wednesday through July 15.

Paula, a newly divorced mother, believes she witnessed a crime and starts investigating while dealing with a custody battle and an identity crisis. Her search pulls her into blackmail and murder as the situation expands into a wider conspiracy that grows more dangerous the deeper she goes.
